1. Niagara Falls, New York

As most of us know this city is famous for its beautiful waterfalls but most of us do not know that Niagara Falls is trying to attract a younger population. In the recent years, the city has developed a community development program that offers a select number of new college grads a student loan repayment plan up to $7,000.

The program is called Live NF. Lookout for their program to fully launch February 2017. The city has its hopes set on improving the community with the main focus is having more young adults in the downtown area.

2. Detroit, Michigan

Detroit is a rising city who has seen some rough times over the past few decades. This may seem like the perfect place to avoid but this is the perfect time to become a pioneer in a major city. The program that is currently attracting many startups and millennials is called the Challenge Detroit.

This program has been curated by the city and they are actively seeking candidates/entrepreneurs who are hungry for a change. How it works is the program will pay the chosen applicant to move to the city to collaborate with businesses and other entities while building the network they need inside of the community. This program has brought life back to the motor city. Look out for big improvements in 2017 and beyond!

3. Chattanooga, Tennessee

Chattanooga, Tennessee is quickly becoming a hub for young and hungry tech workers who are willing to relocate. Reason being is because Chattanooga is the first city in the western hemisphere to have fiber internet accessible to the entire city grid. Most major markets in the US still do not have this.

The program that this city provides is called Geekmove, which is an incentive program designed to financially assist programmers and developers alike who are interested in moving to revitalized communities.

4. The Entire State of Alaska

This sounds too good to be true but we can guarantee that it is. The mission Alaska has is the Permanent Fund Dividend which essentially pays the community of Alaska to permanently live there.

What has been created here is a platform to where citizens are earning an annual payment from the state if they have been a resident of Alaska for at least a year. They believe by setting up this program that their investment will pay off in the future for generations to come.

Like we said earlier, these cities may not be your ideal place, but it is something to consider if you have financial discourse and want to set yourself up for a promising future. Don’t forget to share this with a friend and leave us a comment!
