Interview with Jeffrey Scott.

What is your company and what is its main goal?

My company is Jeffrey Scott, a custom clothing brand. We specialize in suits, shirts, and ties. My main goal is to provide a high quality, perfectly fitted garment that my clients love to wear. It’s very challenging to purchase something off the rack that fits properly, even after alterations. A custom suit that is tailored and made from scratch to fit your shape and size is a great solution. 

When did you start your business and why?

I started my business 2 years ago. After working in the menswear industry for almost 10 years, I gained a lot of knowledge and made several connections within the industry to be able to go out on my own. I have such a passion for wearing and creating suits which plays a huge part in my why. I have also been in a corporate sales role for the past 5 years and my hopes are for the business to some day replace that. 

What makes you different from your competition?

I believe my passion, and attention to detail are two main differentiators. I also travel direct to my clients homes/offices for fittings to make it as convenient as possible. I’ve gone as far as a fitting in the bathroom at Newark airport. Not the cleanest of places but we made it work! I will also go out of my way to make sure every client is 100% happy with the final piece.

What marketing channels do you use for your growth?

I use in person marketing at local networking events as well as vendor events such as bridal expos and whiskey conventions. I also put a lot of time and effort into my social media presence, which has allowed me to break into the professional athlete market. However, word of mouth is by far my best marketing channel. My clients enjoy sharing their experience and showing off their garments. 

What are you expected to grow in terms of revenue in the next 12 months?

I expect to grow 3x in revenue compared to last years numbers. This year has yielded a steady growth rate that I plan to continue over the next twelve months. I am certainly seeing the benefits of all the hard work I have put into the business over the last 2 years. I am extremely excited to see where the business will take me.
